About the Role
Influit Energy is seeking to onboard a hands-on R&D Engineer, to carry out fabrication, assembly, and testing tasks that stand up our hardware development operations.
Requirements
In this hybrid role R&D Engineer is expected to partner with design, engineering, and testing teams to support execution of milestone driven goals. The R&D engineer will maintain laboratory uptime across daily procedures that ensure the success of product development and testing functions. This role will be hands on in the lab and split focus across the following tasks:
Prep - 3D print, lasercut, clean, and visually inspect each piece used in an assembly
Build - Assemble and disassemble devices, designed products, and hardware within the lab
QC - Carry out various inspection and reporting procedures to verify high quality output.
Test - Set up and carry out product testing procedures
The R&D Engineer is comfortable with a shop/lab environment, makes safety the #1 priority, and practices routine cleanliness and organization
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
‘Maker’ mindset with curiosity and fearless to venture into uncharted territory
Strong organizational skills and an ability to self manage work priorities.
Understanding of fabrication equipment and processes (experience with machine tools including 3d printers, CNC, laser cutting a plus)
Effective communication in decision making to determine when to escalate work challenges
Ability to collaborate with design team in order to refine existing design efforts
Minimum Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics
Familiarity with design, engineering, and manufacturing environments
Strong mechanical thinker and problem solver
Highly organized and able to self manage across multiple projects
US citizenship required (no visa sponsorship)
