About the Role
Influit Energy is seeking a versatile mechanical engineer with a strong background in fluid dynamics and machine design with experience in both industrial and academic settings.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should be skilled in multiple CFD packages including ANSYS, FLUENT and comfortable with multi physical modeling. This team member will be working alongside technical experts to couple electrodynamics and CFD principles and be the lead interface with CFD RANDSIM consultants. Hands-on product development experience to support the hardware team objectives by applying technical engineering expertise to impact ruggedization of physical products.
Daily Activities:
Carry out product development through research, design and implementation of mechanical systems/processes using engineering principles
Develop robust DFM updates of existing prototype product and manufacturing procedures through 3D models, drawings, diagrams, and BOM
Hands on approach to product development with readiness to execute in-house and outsourced manufacturing techniques to fabricate and assemble products
Perform root cause analysis/ failure mode effect analysis for design revisions to engineer a solution
Coordinate with the hardware team to implement changes, perform product validation, analyze test data, summarize findings, and effectively communicate to the rest of the team
Actively communicate specific work requirements or needs to internal functions, such as purchasing and manufacturing to ensure expectations are understood as defined by engineering specifications
Minimum Requirements:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering
4+ years experience in CFD/multiphysics modeling
Proven proficiency in 3D CAD using Solidworks (or similar)
Experience with physical product prototyping and fabrication equipment
Aptitude for hardware engineering suitable for industrial manufacturing process
Ability to work independently with little supervision and track multiple processes.
We’d love to see:
Experience with two phase solid liquid systems, progressive cavity pumps, flow battery dynamics, porous media theory
Past participation in new product introduction or clean sheet engineering
Prior work examples or portfolio demonstrating relevant work knowledge
US citizenship required (no visa sponsorship)
